Learning Interrupted

Nearly a week ago, the way our children learn was interrupted. Teachers had to figure out how to deliver lesson plans and classroom activities and parents were wondering how they were going to juggle doing their “day job” from home with so much company. Forty-eight hours later living-rooms, dining rooms and basements throughout our community became makeshift classrooms and us parents, the on-site teachers.

If you’re like me, you discovered three things quickly while settling into your new at-home teacher/remote employee role:

1. Shhh-ing my kids while on a conference call creates approximately 12 seconds of silence
2. We would be putting our home network to the test in the coming weeks
3. There are tons of online learning tools to help me and my “students” but it can be a little overwhelming
